Dr. Bernard Slota completed his both his undergraduate and his dental studies at Marquette University, graduating in 1977 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He has been named one of American’s Top Dentists by the Consumers Research Council of America. He has practiced in the Lakewood area for 36 years, spending the first 32 years in downtown Denver before moving to his current location. He continues his dental education and training regularly through daily journals and monthly meetings, and has received advanced training in implant dentistry. He also completed a mini residency in 2014-2015.
Nyah joined our team in 2018. She graduated from Emily Griffith Technical College Dental Assistant Program in 2018. She has since been trained as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant. She enjoys coming to work everyday & being able to get to know her patients. Nyah’s favorite part about dentistry is playing an important role in improving patients quality of life. She also enjoys learning new things every day. She enjoys spending time with her Husband & her family. She likes to travel. Nyah is the youngest of 3 siblings whom she is very close with & has two nephews that she loves very much.

Margaret, originally from California, has called Colorado home for the past five years. She attended Colorado State University (CSU) before pursuing her passion for dental care, graduating from the Academy of Dental Assisting Careers in 2024. Growing up in close proximity to her mother’s dental practice, Margaret developed a deep appreciation for the impact a confident smile can have on a person’s life. Outside of her professional pursuits, Margaret enjoys skiing and cherishes any opportunity to immerse herself in Colorado’s beautiful outdoors.

Bobbette is our warm and welcoming Office Manager, bringing over 25 years of experience in the dental field. She has spent most of her career helping patients feel comfortable and cared for while keeping our office running smoothly. Bobbette truly enjoys getting to know each patient and building lasting relationships with our dental family. Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her family, especially at the football field. A true fan at heart, Bobbette proudly cheers for her favorite team — the Alabama Crimson Tide!

She’s passionate about helping patients achieve healthier smiles through gentle, thorough care—and believes in empowering each person to take charge of their oral health. Soumaly is committed to continuing education so she can stay current with the latest advancements in dental care, all while building strong, lasting relationships with her patients. Outside the office, she’s a proud green thumb with a collection of over 100 houseplants—nurturing her indoor jungle with the same care she gives her patients.

Meka loves connecting with patients and seeing their confidence grow after each visit. Outside the office, you’ll likely find her hiking or enjoying any activity that keeps her moving and soaking up the outdoors
Meet Cappuccino, our beloved office dog and four-legged team member at Denver Smiles! He’s known for his friendly personality, love of long walks and hikes, and especially for being quite the talker. Cappuccino takes his job seriously—greeting patients with tail wags and happy barks before and after their appointments. He even has his own coffee bar in the waiting room, making sure everyone feels welcome with a warm cup of coffee or tea. Whether you're here for a check-up or just stopping by, Cappuccino is always ready to make your visit a little brighter.
